Halal ANAC biscuit

Customers have left angry and borderline racist posts on the Aussie biscuit manufacturer's Facebook page.

Many have claimed the decision to make such a biscuit was a "disgrace", "disrespectful" and "un-Australian", according to smartcompany. One customer wrote: "I was a big fan of the cookies but won't ever buy them again now that they are Halal. Shocking."

Okay let’s look at the two main characters:

Halal. Halal is often used in reference to foods, i.e. foods that are permissible for Muslims to eat or drink under Islamic Shariʻah. The criteria specify both what foods are allowed, and how the food must be prepared. The foods addressed are mostly types of meat and animal tissue.  In this case it is the cookie.  I think the stink is that customers are the ones who have to pay for the accreditation.  I know that I still eat Cadbury chocolates and they have been halal for some time.

ANZAC biscuits.  Lets face it, these biscuits are not the same ones that the ANZACs had.  Plus the Kiwis are trying to claim they invented them, just where does this mob get off, next they will be claiming Pavlova and Pharlap, bribing refs to give them one more point in football etc…
